Maciej was born and raised in Warsaw, Poland. In secondary education, he participated in the Polish Chemistry Olympiad. At the University of Warsaw, he earned a BSc in Chemistry within the College of Inter-faculty Individual Studies in Mathematics and Natural Sciences, incorporating parts of the biotechnology curriculum. During his bachelor studies, he participated in an Erasmus+ exchange, undertaking a research project on drug delivery in polymersome systems at Radboud University (Nijmegen, NL). He continued his education with a MSc in Chemistry, joining the Feringa Group to work on chiral phosphoryl azide reagents and the Pollice Research Group to work on automated analytical data analysis for closed-loop automation. Subsequently, he worked at BASF Heerenveen (NL) on novel initiation conditions for emulsion polymerization and both digitization and data processing projects before returning to the Pollice Research Group as a PhD Candidate in February 2025, where he now works on data-driven design of organocatalyzed reactions.
